Prof. Dr. Georg Oenbrink was born on 23 August 1957 in Steinfeld (Oldenburg). After studying chemistry with a doctorate in Bremen, he started his professional career in 1987 in the application technology thermoplastics of the former Dynamit Nobel AG. From 1989 to 2010, he held senior positions in product management, research & development and innovation management in the current High Performance Polymers Business Line of Evonik Industries. From 2002 to 2010, he was Senior Vice President Innovation Management of the High Performance Polymers Business Line. In April 2010, he moved to Evonik Industries AG as Head of Innovation Networks & Communications in the Corporate Innovation department, where he held global responsibility for the development of innovation networks and strategic innovation partnerships until his transition to the passive phase of part-time retirement.

During his active time in industry, he was Chairman of the Board of the GDCh Division Macromolecular Chemistry, Member of the Board of VCW from 2015 to 2017, Member of the Board of Kunststoffland NRW e.V., Curator at the Fraunhofer Institute IFAM in Bremen; Scientific Advisory Board at the DWI Institute for Interactive Materials Research at RWTH Aachen University.

After several years of teaching at the FH Aachen in the Department of Chemistry & Biotechnology, he was appointed Honorary Professor in 2015. He lectures on industrial aspects of plastics technology, innovation and technology management, plastics in medical technology and additive manufacturing.

Gerhard Tammen worked for the audio specialist Sennheiser for many years. After heading Sennheiser Sales Germany until 2012 as Managing Partner, he joined Sennheiser’s parent company in 2012 as Vice President EMEA in the Global Sales division and assumed the position of Vice President Global Retail Channel in 2015.

Gerhard Tammen has been retired since June 2017 and is dedicated to various projects and honorary activities.
